mini-review
This is romance stripped of illusion. Everyone wants honesty… until they get it.
The film operates like emotional chess — strategic seduction, deliberate cruelty, power shifts in dialogue. Clive Owen and Natalie Portman bring an almost dangerous intensity, while Roberts and Law reveal vanity and insecurity underneath sophistication.
It’s talky, theatrical, and intentionally uncomfortable. Love here isn’t tender. It’s territorial.
