mini-review

The sequel wisely leans into George’s growing panic about time marching forward. While the premise stretches plausibility, the humor remains affectionate and character-driven. Steve Martin again anchors the chaos with exasperated charm, portraying a man who desperately wants stability in a world that refuses to sit still. It’s lighter than the first film but still lands several warm, relatable moments about family evolving whether you’re ready or not.

A relaxed evening and appreciation for gentle family humor.

Absurdist's Corner

A man already overwhelmed by one daughter’s wedding somehow survives the simultaneous arrival of two babies.

fun facts

  • Diane Keaton reportedly loved the script’s comedic twist of both women becoming pregnant at once.

  • Martin Short returned as the flamboyant wedding planner, stealing scenes once again.

  • The film doubled down on domestic comedy rather than wedding spectacle.
