mini-review
Hacksaw Ridge tells one of the most remarkable true stories of World War II. Director Mel Gibson balances deeply personal character drama with intense battlefield sequences that capture the chaos of combat. What makes the film stand out, however, is its portrayal of moral conviction—showing how one man’s refusal to compromise his beliefs became an extraordinary act of bravery.
A quiet evening and a renewed appreciation for courage that takes a different form than most war heroes.
Absurdist's Corner
In one of the most violent battles of the Pacific War, the bravest soldier on the battlefield refuses to fire a weapon.
