mini-review
Directed by Matt Reeves, this American adaptation of the Swedish novel Let the Right One In blends horror with an unexpectedly tender coming-of-age story. Kodi Smit-McPhee and Chloë Grace Moretz deliver haunting performances that give the film emotional depth beyond its vampire premise. Quiet, atmospheric, and often unsettling, the movie transforms a familiar monster story into a dark tale about loneliness and dependence.
A cold evening, dim lighting, and the quiet mood for a haunting, slow-burn supernatural story.
Absurdist's Corner
Owen slowly realizes his new best friend might be a vampire…yet compared to the bullies at school, she still seems like the healthier relationship.
