mini-review
Scandal Makers is one of Korea’s most beloved modern comedies, and it earns that reputation through sheer charm. The setup is ridiculous but incredibly funny: a vain celebrity forced into instant family life he never knew existed. The film balances slapstick comedy with heartfelt moments, especially as the reluctant “grandfather” slowly softens toward the kid who barged into his life. It’s warm, energetic, and extremely entertaining.
Fried chicken, beer, and a movie night where the laughs come as quickly as the plot twists.
Absurdist's Corner
A famous radio host tries to hide a surprise daughter and grandson while continuing to broadcast relationship advice to the entire country. If irony were electricity, this movie could power Seoul.
