“Relationships that start under intense circumstances… they never last.”
synopsis
A mad bomber rigs a city bus to explode if it drops below 50 mph. LAPD officer Jack Traven boards the bus to keep passengers alive while Annie, a random civilian, ends up driving it through Los Angeles traffic at breakneck speed. The clock is ticking, the streets are chaos, and Dennis Hopper is enjoying himself immensely.

mini-review
This is lean, mean 90s action perfection. No bloat. No winking. Just tension. Keanu Reeves plays it straight, Sandra Bullock radiates charm and nerves, and Hopper chews scenery like it’s a buffet. The bus setting forces constant invention. It’s the kind of movie that makes you forget to blink.
A weeknight when you don’t want to think. Popcorn. Someone who talks during movies — because they won’t be able to keep up.
Absurdist's Corner
The bus jump over the unfinished freeway ramp (which physically makes zero sense). Also, the villain’s plan requires NASA-level choreography and assumes no one hits traffic.
fun facts
Sandra Bullock wasn’t yet a major star — this made her one overnight.
The famous bus jump was done practically.
Originally pitched as “Die Hard on a bus.” Which… yes.
