mini-review

Directed by Terry Gilliam, this modern urban fairy tale blends comedy, tragedy, and surreal fantasy. Robin Williams gives one of the most vulnerable performances of his career as Parry, while Jeff Bridges perfectly captures the self-absorbed cynicism of Jack. Gilliam’s dreamlike visual style turns New York City into a landscape where myth and reality collide, creating a film that is both heartbreaking and unexpectedly uplifting.

A reflective late night and the mood for a strange, compassionate film about broken people finding redemption.

Absurdist's Corner

Only in a Terry Gilliam movie does a quest for the Holy Grail unfold through homeless encampments, New York street life, and a shock-radio meltdown.
