mini-review

Directed by Frank Darabont and based on the novel by Stephen King, this supernatural prison drama balances emotional storytelling with moments of quiet magic. Tom Hanks anchors the film with warmth and restraint, while Michael Clarke Duncan delivers an unforgettable performance as the gentle giant John Coffey. The movie is long, but its mixture of tragedy, compassion, and supernatural mystery makes it deeply affecting.

A quiet evening and the emotional patience for a long story that slowly breaks your heart.
