mini-review
This is lightning in a bottle. It’s romantic, funny, action-packed, and paced like a roller coaster. Fraser radiates movie-star charisma; Weisz balances brains and heart; the score soars; and the CGI—while dated in spots—still supports a film that knows exactly what it wants to be. It’s Raiders-lite in the best possible way: less reverent, more playful, endlessly charming.
Popcorn and escapism. A lazy Saturday afternoon. Anyone who misses when blockbusters were just fun.
Absurdist's Corner
A librarian accidentally triggers biblical plagues while translating ancient texts in record time. Also, mummies apparently regenerate via soul-sucking in the most theatrical way possible. It’s maximal nonsense—and glorious.
