“If everyone only took what they needed, there would be enough for all.”
synopsis
In a mysterious vertical prison, inmates are housed on hundreds of stacked levels. Each day a platform filled with food descends from the top floor downward, giving those on the upper levels first access while leaving scraps—or nothing at all—for those below. A new prisoner soon discovers that survival depends not only on hunger but also on whether people can learn to cooperate in a brutally unequal system.
