Lean, relentless, and mean. This is a horror film disguised as sci-fi action. Cameron shoots Los Angeles like a nightmare, and Schwarzenegger’s inhuman stillness is terrifying. It’s smaller and darker than its sequel — and arguably purer.
Late-night viewing.
Appreciating practical effects.
Watching it before T2 to feel the tonal shift.
