mini-review
Unlucky timing — released the same year as The Matrix. It shares similar ideas but lacks the energy and visual punch. The noir aesthetic is intriguing, and the concept is solid, but execution feels flat. It’s watchable, occasionally clever, but never gripping.
Lower expectations.
A curiosity about pre-Matrix virtual reality cinema.
A double feature comparison night.
